Our First Four Wheel

Hey peeps - So finally I found a full time job! :) Of all the things, if there was one thing I always missed was working in a corporate office. And I am ecstatic now! I never thought one single position could bring in so much respect and changes in and out of family. Ofcourse I miss going out with my girls , shopping and eating out all while S was at office - And watching my favorite TV Shows and talking hrs over the phone.

Never too late to strike them all

Image
I'd always seen people buzzing around the bowling areas - in huge malls with shopping stalls all around and now even in smaller ones  back in India. The last time I remember playing it was when I was in schools, playing double player with my sis and yes, in video games -lol. Just as I sat to pen this down,

Down The Road this Summer

Image
This Summer was not so evident that it was actually 'Summer'! I mean, I never felt scorching heat the whole week conitunously, not able to sit at home without looking for a fan etc ( That's the only part of the year where you look out for a fan!)  It was even more weird because of the constant wind storms or the dark grey sky that clouds all on a sudden. There was also an evening when the trains were cancelled due to fallen trees on tracks ( Dargh, S and I got horribly stuck that day and the DB arranged for taxis back to our town - Well that was a rarity. Considering they had to disperse ALL of the crowd: Some by taxi and the others by giving them Hotel Gutscheins) What's with this Summer? We were almost certain - waiting for the cold to kick us beforehand. Just when we thought so, came the week with Heat.

HSWD - The Geography Map

I was 15, and was in my class' "Gossip Girls" team- we had up-to-date news of other classes, ranks, tests and of course girly talks - And oh, there was one who had a crush for a guy from when she was 11 : it was the talk of the town. Never really was I therefore, used to having boys as friends or did I think there was a need to - then till now . Our classrooms were on a roofed terrace-converted to classes - They had some expansion or infrastructure changes or something going on.  All I remember is that, that's when it all began. In my place, the examinations we write in tenth and twelfth grades play a very vital role in getting an admission to Bachelor's degree. So those were the times we used to have special classes ( On Sundays or evening classes or half-day sessions or even to a two-day study trip) , more model exams, stress and now lots of memories to hold on. I was in X A then.

High school - Wedding diaries (HSWD)

Tadaa .... I'd always wanted to write you of this series : High school - Wedding diaries.  It's going to swirl pass the times before I'd known S as to what he is now to me ( Huh? too many 'to's) , how we grew up together : as friends, as high school crushes, as college buddies, and then to gf, to being his wife now.

Scribbles - yet again

Okay, so finally I find time to hear just the keyboard sounds as I write this post. Huff, what a brilliant May/June this year has been! Really peeps, there was back to back schedules ( ofcourse they are more of a vacation, friends and family - but then, those are the moments everyone treasures, right?) making me scribble tons and tons of memories, now I have to catch-up so much to you!  I was so much on travel, that I didn't take my laptop along too ! Well, in a way I was totally in the moments - off from social media. And it felt good. Here's a quick wrap up before I go out to the supermarket  - The first thing that you need to do especially after you're back from India - will be self-shopping. Huh!

Things I miss from India #4

4. Festivals and Colours: Of all things that comes to mind, when you say that you are an Indian, to people here, I could not believe that they say "Oh, So much Sun, beautiful colors, and ofcourse sooo many people". I can agree the first and last as being their reasons for an awe, but colors? Huh?  And then it stuck me.  Ofcourse, why wouldn't they love India for its colors?

Enchanting Brugges

Image
Ah, what a fantastic Easter vacation it was - five days of beauty, relaxation and fascination at Amsterdam, Brugges and Brussels. I'm back home with lots and lots to tell you. It was that time of the year, where the Sun peeps out more often pushing away the winds and greys.  With the weather prediction as winds and thunderstorms, and our plans to roam around in the nights too - We simply carried costumes of all weather. Summer shades, running shoes, Autumn boots, scarves, umbrellas, gloves, thermalwears, hoodies and ofcourse the Winter jackets - and oh, the swim costumes too. You know - just incase we found time to swim in our pool at the Apartments we stayed. Romantic Get-away: Of all the places we went this Easter, I thought I'll write of my favorite first - the mesmerizing Bruges.

Stacked in prints

Somehow I derived this love-for-camera gene from my mom, and the bad-at-expressing-onto face gene from my dad -  which makes me want to use my photographs as a mode of expression.  Oh it reminds me, wonder where dad kept his handy-cam - That's the next stage <gives a self-shoulder pat> - calm down. Okay, so this craze - to make a memory lane of all my life's happenings - It was more of the 'UP' influence I guess.  Duh, no I do not open humpty number of folders in My Computer, dig into piles of photos to go down the best moments. It tires me, and I have had enough experiences choosing, editing and finalizing pics for our wedding album - communicating with the photographer/photoshopper ( Is there a word 'photoshopper'?<pops eyes>)  back in India. The 14 folder-full of pics

Tots and Greys

I, almost everyday, travel by bus to my tiny town's city center. Be it to work, supermarket, girly-shopping, dinner date with S, friends meet-up - whatever - I take the bus, if it's cold outside. Simple. Hmm .. Actually, this gives me plenty of time to people-watch, look out the window, chit-chat with friends, write a quick email to S, or .. simply gaze at the floor. Unlike our Indian buses, where people get in both the doors, and swing by the stairs along the drive, here the buses have an Entry and an Exit - rules and rules - Follow it I say.  But, there's an exception to this 'Rule' -

Ponies and Us

And so we start our first trip of this new year 2015.  It was a short and not-much-planned one that S and I set off - this time with RWTH friends. The last time we had all met up was in the Austria -2014 New Year trip - where we parted off saying "we would pakka meet for the Summer hols" .  After hours of conference-calling on How, When and Where-to-pick-you, we finally started off on a Friday afternoon - with two Mitfahrers - he he extra money toh why not ?

Back to the cold

Its now more than a week since I'm back here in Germany. It's colder, greyer and windier than the time I left. Friends here have been excitingly waiting for us to return - so we meetup, party and go on trips together.   Two of my friends are no more preggies - their kids are old enough to smile now: and one other's kid is now rolling on his tummy (s uper cute he looks)   Snow falls just as if the Nature herself is trying to cheer us up,

Fresh start

Wooo.. Heyyyaa! Happy New Year once again !! How was your New Year celebrations everyone? I am having super fun here in India. I wanted to somehow writeup a post while in India itself - brr.. I'm depriving my afternoon nap and writing you this - so please read-on - hehe.  Its been four weeks already - four weeks of vast differences - in food, traffic, discipline ( yes discipline) prices (some that made my eyes pop out and some that were dead-cheap) and oh the no-need-of-jeans and shoes every time-you-go-out feels fantastic! S and I have finished most of our to-do and to-eat checklist. We both have gained some 5 kg ever since we came here.  Uhmm..This time we wanted to make a small tour with the family, watch movie together and have a dinner out with family - as a part of our checklist. And so, we had been to movies and to Kerala - a state in India with my dad, mom and sis. This is famously called the 'God's own country' mainly because of it
